In a country where rural women are often not given a right to earn wages for their work, crochet and needle work has remained the women’s domain due to the tradition of women learning to sew and knit items for their own bridal trousseau.
Today with design intervention, sourcing of innovative yarns and imaginative product design these traditional skills are helping women become financially and socially empowered.
