Daughters of India X Projecthrive

Daughters of India has partnered with Projecthrive to create a capsule collection of hand-block print styles. This collaboration has employed 4 artisans for 212 workdays. Together, we provided both economic opportunity and representation to artisans with virtually no access to education and helped each of them provide for their families.

Block printing, involves stamping fabric with wood-carved blocks one motif at a time. Each meter requires hours of careful printing, preserving centuries-old skills and detail. Through Projecthrive initiative, Sonica Sarna has been capacity building and training these communities and connecting them with socially minded brands such as Daughters of India since 2009.
