Sonica Sarna is proud to announce its latest ethical production and impact reporting partnership with SPELL for Summer 2025. As the ethical production partner behind this capsule collection of GOTS-certified organic cotton and hand-block printed styles, we’re honoring heritage textile traditions while creating measurable social impact.
This collaboration employed 18 artisans across 474 workdays, bringing visibility, economic opportunity, and dignity to craftspeople with limited access to formal education. Together, we’re weaving cultural integrity, transparency, and human connection into every piece.
Each SPELL x Sonica Sarna piece is a tribute to timeless craft and the artisans who bring it to life.

Block printing is a traditional artisanal technique done in Bengaluru in South India and uses wood-carved blocks to stamp patterns onto fabric one repeat at a time. Each meter of fabric is printed a motif at a time by a generational artisan and takes several hours to print. Sonica Sarna has been partnering with these communities through Projecthrive to connect them with brands like SPELL since 2009.
Through this collaboration by using the hand block printing technique instead of machine printing, we have saved 47.43 kW of electricity.

We create artisan-made products that drive real, measurable impact—then share that story with customers. Through real-time photos, videos, and personal narratives of the makers, we connect audiences to the hands behind the craft.
Each report includes relatable impact data—jobs created, women empowered, carbon reduced, and more—turning every purchase into a story of meaningful change.
